    More about Hypermile-ing
Hypermile-ing The Highlands
A few weeks ago I had the pleasant task of having to drive through the Scottish highlands. The shear size and beauty of the place never ceases to amaze, even in the worst of weathers. Traveling up from the Midlands to the Isle of skye it took me around 2.5 tanks of fuel. I traveled at normal speeds. So 70 mph along all the major roads and it took around 12 hrs. I heard an article on the radio whilst there about hypermile-ing. In short this a style of driving to get the best fuel consumption. I tried it on the return journey. I came back in the same 12 hrs and yet only used 1.7 tanks of fuel. Quite a saving at £40 a tank..

    History of the .303 round
Mystery Bullet.

If any one can help identify this please get in touch. At first we thought it was an early .303 but the case is a bit short for a british round. It was found in a field in France, so we suspect its from the first world war. It is around .303 in caliber.

Cooperisms sent in from "Highland Schteff."
I told my girlfriend I had a job in a bowling alley. She said 'Tenpin?'
I said, 'No, permanent.'
I went into a shop and I said, 'Can someone sell me a kettle.' The bloke
said 'Kenwood' I said, 'Where is he then?'

I was reading this book today, The History of Glue .I couldn't put it down.
I was driving up the motorway and my boss phoned me and he told me I'd been promoted. I was so shocked I swerved the car. He phoned me again to say I'd been promoted even higher and I swerved again. He then made me managing director and I went right off into a tree. The police came and asked me what had happened. I said 'I careered off the road'
